Thursday’s Thought

lara casey quoteThis is a quote that I shared with you when I did my book review on “Make It Happen” by Lara Casey. I’m sharing the quote again because I think it’s so powerful and has an important message. As I’m sitting here reflecting on my summer and how I did on my July goals, it gets me thinking about this topic: life and regrets. I know life gets hectic and things get pushed aside, especially when they involve doing things for ourselves. This can be something big like making a life change; maybe because fear holds you back, or something as simple as doing something small for yourself.

I know I’ve shared this before, but I’m a perfectionist (it’s the Virgo in me!). Erik jokes my life motto is “what if…”. I often don’t takes risks because I don’t want to fail and do things that I know I’m good at. I’m really trying to make a conscious effort to not live my life like this anymore, and challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone. I know I’ll never be completely spontaneous, because that’s not who I am, but I’m going to push myself to take “calculated risks”. 🙂

This year has already been a huge year for me to grow as a person. I’m a people-pleaser and have a hard time saying no, and tend to overcommit (then regret it). I’m getting better at saying “no” and standing up for myself. I have also learned to take time for myself that I deserve. For me personally, that’s going to workout everyday (for my health and to clear my head).

Questions:

What are the things you’ve always wanted to do that you haven’t yet??

What are you going to do to make that happen?
