I’m excited to finally share some of the highlights from our trip to Austin and San Antonio! We had such a great time! It was the perfect combination of exploring, relaxing and visiting with great friends.
We started off in Austin and stayed at the cutest hotel ever! I found the Lone Star Court online after googling “cool hotels in Austin” and was a little skeptical because the price was so affordable, but decided to book it after reading all the great reviews. Last time we stayed at The Driskill in Downtown Austin (it’s a really nice historical hotel) so this time we wanted a different experience. Lone Star Court is located in North Austin near the shopping mall The Domain, so it’s centrally located to both Downtown and Lake Travis. I’m so glad we stayed here! This is seriously one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It is a boutique hotel so it’s not huge and has a traditional Texas feel, with a mix of modern and retro.
I highly recommend you check out this hotel if you’re in Austin!
Before our trip I was looking on Pinterest of things to do in Austin and Hamilton Pool kept coming up, so I knew we had to go there. Wow am I glad we did! Words can’t even begin to describe how beautiful it is. Who knew Texas so was pretty?! Not me, that’s for sure! Normally you are able to swim in the natural pool, but due to the recent floods in Texas swimming was prohibited due to high bacteria levels in the water. Swimming in Hamilton Pool is officially on my bucket list!
The water is clear… so gorgeous! I can’t believe this is Texas! And hello, how about that sky?! (no filter!)
It’s huge, the pictures do it no justice! It’s $15 per car to get in and then you walk about half a mile to reach the pool.
Up next was San Antonio where we stayed with friends and spent the 4th of July. On the 4th we went to Fredericksburg, TX which is a super cute historic town with a large German influence. We were having so much fun that I forgot to take a lot of pictures in San Antonio. Past Fredericksburg are lots of vineyards and wineries so we headed there after. We went to Becker Vineyards which was so beautiful. In this part of Texas, not only do they have vineyards but also lots of peach orchards and lavender fields.
These are our good friends, Holly and Danny. Holly and I have been friends since the 7th grade. They just recently got engaged too, so it was so much to celebrate and talk weddings! 🙂
These are some pictures from the winery. The weather was pleasant, the company was great and the wine was wonderful! Such a perfect was to spend the 4th of July! At night we watched fireworks in Holly’s parents neighborhood. Apparently in San Antonio if you live outside the city limits you can do fireworks. I’m talking huge Disneyland level fireworks. We walked around the community watching huge fireworks over our head. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced!
Until next time Texas!
