Baked Pears with Pecans and Raisins

baked pears

Growing up my mom used to make baked apples on the first rainy day of the school year. I can remember being at school while it was raining and I would anticipate coming home to warm baked apples.

They say out of all our senses, smell triggers memories. This is definitely the case for me when it comes to baked apples!

I thought I would modify my mom’s recipe and try it with pears instead. They turned out so good! This is a great healthy dessert (or snack) option. These would be delicious with a scoop of ice cream!

Ingredients:

(Serves 2-4)

2 large pears, cut in half
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ cup chopped pecans
2 Tbsp raisins
2 tsp honey

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Cut the pears in half and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  I cut a little piece off the back of each pear so they stay upright.

Scoop the seeds out of the center. Fill center with pecans and raisins. Sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle honey on top.

Bake for about 30 minutes.

Enjoy!
